Triple stacked Old Bay Crab Cakes

Flash Gordon has nothing on these bad boys…

The Emperor Ming, “Pathetic earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void, without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would’ve hidden from it in terror.”

Dale Arden, “Flash, Flash, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!”

Looks like doom a gloom for Flash…but not for you…

If your life is hectic/dramatic (like mine) and you didn’t plan dinner ahead (like me) then my secret to a yummy dinner in a jiffy will help you get out of the growlie stomach terror bind. Feed those bellies that are on the brink of starvation in twelve minutes from start to finish.

The ingredients are easily substituted for others and usually stocked in most pantrys. Don’t let the lack of ingredients fool you into thinking these creations are anything less than scrumb-de-licious. This recipe is so yummy you will be adding it to your list of meals in a flash!

Old Bay Crab Cake Recipe

Preparations: 4 minutes Cook time: 8 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. can of Jumbo lumb blue crab meat
    picked over and shells removed
  • 2 slices of bread with crusts removed and broken into small pieces
  • 2 Tbs. milk
  • 1 Tbs mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of McCormick Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbs chopped parsley or dried flakes
  • 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper

Method to the Rad-ness:

In a small bowl add the bread chunks and milk to moisten.

Then in another bowl beat the egg and add the mayonnaise, Old Bay Seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. With your hands, delicately add the crab trying not to break the crab up.

Separate into eight pieces and form into patties.

In a skillet fry the crab cakes in melted butter (or oil if you don’t have butter) until they are golden brown on both sides. Usually 2-3 minutes per side.
